Having anywhere, anytime access to your PSA system comes with great risk. If an Autotask password was able to shared, stolen or easily guessed… the consequences to your business could be catastrophic. Besides the business liability this holds, such access to sensitive customer information may require you to provide better staff accountability.

This is where AuthAnvil for Autotask comes in. It provides an additional layer of security to compliment the safeguards in Autotask to offer identity assurance protection for your users. You will gain confidence in knowing who is actually requesting such access to Autotask, and have a definitive method to audit and control all this through two-factor authentication.
So how does it work?
It’s simple really. During the regular process of logging into Autotask the security subsystem determines if your account needs your to prove your identity with a stronger credential. If so, a second screen pops up challenging you for your AuthAnvil passcode. You simply type in your 4 to 8 digit personal PIN, and then enter the 8 character one-time password generated by your AuthAnvil token.(You can see an example of an Android AuthAnvil SoftToken to the right.)
Additional benefits
The benefits of AuthAnvil integration within Autotask isn’t where this story ends. If you are an IT Services company or MSP that is taking advantage of IT automation to centrally manage and monitor your client networks, you can use the same strong authentication system you use for Autotask there. Your one-time passwords generated by your AuthAnvil token will work across all the networks that you manage. And you can use it to logon to all the Windows servers and workstations that you work on too!
